From Blueberry Pancakes to Regenerative Beef: School Food Gets a Makeover
Community Roots (a fiscally sponsored project of the Community Foundation of Nevada County) has started transforming breakfast and lunch for 29 school sites in Western Nevada County. The goal? Healthier, scratch-cooked meals made with locally sourced ingredients — like regenerative beef from California farms and fresh produce from local farms. It’s a big shift — and it’s just getting started.
